This Saturday at Newmarket one of the feature races will be the Middle Park Stakes for two-year-old colts and the team of racing experts at horseracing.co.uk has complied a form guide analysis and betting preview.

The Group 1 Middle Park Stakes, due to run at Newmarket Racecourse at 2.20pm, has drawn a star studded field of ten runners.

The most talked about runner in the lead-up to this race has been Clive Cox-trained Reckless Abandon who is undefeated in his four career starts.

The son of Exchange Rate is the favourite in the Middle Park Stakes betting market at Bet365 Bet365 and is priced at 7/4.

He is followed in the market by Moohaajim (3/1), Cristoforo Colombo (6/1) and Blaine (9/1).

The 2012 Middle Park Stakes will be a very exciting race and to help you find a winner we have gone over the betting history, field and form to find all the facts and stats you need to know.

2012 Middle Park Stakes Form Facts and Betting Stats

The 2011 Middle Park Stakes was won by Aidan O’Brien-trained Crusade and was ridden by Seamie Heffernan.

O’Brien and Heffernan will vie for back-to-back wins with Parliament Square this year and O’Brien also has Cristoforo Colombo and Gale Force Ten in the race.

Crusade started the 2011 Middle Park Stakes as a 25/1 outsider. The outsiders in this year’s race are Heavy Metal (25/1), Hototo (25/1) and Wexford Opera (33/1).

Reckless Abandon, Moohaajim and Blaine are all last start winners.

Reckless Abandon and Blaine are both undefeated.

No horse in the field has previously won at Newmarket.

Reckless Abandon is a Group 1 winner.

Reckless Abandon has defeated Gale Force Ten, Moohaajim and Parliament Square in previous races.

The most successful barrier over the distance of this race at Newmarket is barrier number three that has been drawn by Master of War.

2012 Middle Park Stakes Trifecta Tip

Reckless Abandon (7/4) from Cristoforo Colombo (6/1) and Parliament Sqaure (12/1)

Reckless Abandon should be able to keep his undefeated streak intact in the Middle Park Stakes. The two-year-old has looked incredibly impressive in his four-start career and was particularly good in the Prix Morny in France. The colt has finished ahead of Gale Force Ten, Moohaajim and Parliament Square in previous runs and it is difficult to see them being able to reverse that in the Middle Park Stakes.

Cristoforo Colombo has been an impressive juvenile and if he hasn’t suffered any ill effects from slipping up in the Phoenix Stakes is an excellent chance to be in the finish of this race. The Aiden O’Brien-trained galloper will be kept pretty close to the speed and is a good bet to finish in the trifecta.

Parliament Square is the best outsider in the field and should improve on his unlucky fifth at his last start. The son of Acclamation finished less than a length behind Reckless Abandon in the Prix Morny and if he can recapture that form will finish in the top three in the Middle Park Stakes.
